Hi,

When i try to fetch "KB4571703" (August security monthly rollup for 2012 R2) using Get-hotfix command OR even checking installed updated in add/remove programs, i don't see this is installed, However it was successfully installed last month and same can be viewed in "view update history" in windows update (wuapp)

Note: this patch (KB4571703) is not removed explicitly by any administrator also "KB4577066" (September security monthly rollup for 2012 R2) was installed in this month

Now when i try to run standalone of August patch it stats "this is patch is not applicable" which is obvious considering September rollup is already available on server

But, what wonders me the most why result of Get-hotfix KB4571703 returns patch was not found on the system.. Does anyone have any explanation to this...

    @WinTechie
    Hi,
    You're right.
    KB4571703 has been replaced by the September security monthly rollup.

    Get-HotFix will not returne all installed KBs, this class returns only the updates supplied by Component Based Servicing (CBS). These updates are not listed in the registry. Updates supplied by Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) or the Windows Update site are not returned by Win32_QuickFixEngineering.
    For more information, you could refer to the following link:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.powershell.management/get-hotfix?view=powershell-5.1
    You can use dism directly :

    dism /online /get-packages

    Hope above information can help you.
