Azure Virtual Desktop: Additional Mailboxes Not Opening

Hi,

I have an ongoing issue with Outlook on Azure Virtual Desktop which I'm needing some pointers with: -

Problem: -

Additional/Secondary mailboxes in Outlook fail to load. "Cannot expand the folder". These are mailboxes which are not the user's primary email account.

Setup: -

  • I have two Windows 11 hosts in a host pool which have office apps pre-installed. The host image was selected from the image library.
  • The hosts are joined to Active Directory (DC running as a VM in Azure) and users' passwords are synced to Azure AD using ADConnect.
  • Seamless Sign-On is enabled.
  • FSLogix is used for profile management.

Workaround: -

I have to sign the additional mailboxes out of the office apps and then re-opening outlook prompts for the mailbox's password. The mailboxes then work again for a short while, but the problem re-occurs a few days later.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Please try the following steps:

    1. Reomve the additional account via File>Account Settings>Account Settings>choose it and click Remove.
    2. Re-add it and unselect use Cached mode.
    3. If it still doesn't work, please enable Cached mode again via File>Account Settings>Account Settings>choose it and click change:

    4. Restart Outlook.
