Hello,

Microsoft is Disabling Basic Authentication against Exchange Online services starting October 1st (see following links). We are using Odata connector with Microsoft Online Services Authentication type to load data from SharepointOnline to SQL Server. Anyone know if the deprecation of Basic Authentication is going to affect how I use the OData connector with the Microsoft Online Services Authentication type? Is that considered Modern Authentication or how is that different than Basic authentication? Please advise.

    Hi @Michael Jiang ,

As per my knowledge, the deprecation of Basic Authentication will not affect the OData connector with the Microsoft Online Services Authentication type.

Basic authentication is also known as HTTP authentication. HTTP provides a general framework for access control and authentication. To connect to SharePoint Online, you need to use Microsoft Online Services Authentication.

    Reference: Connection Manager Authentication.
