Change downstream server update source

Hi,
We have a standalone WSUS server acting as a downstream server (not SCCM). The update source is pointing to 'Server1'. I tried to change the update source to 'server2' but it keeps on failing and reverting to 'server1'. I also tried the config wizard and that failed. How do you change the update source server on an existing downstream server please?

    WSUS MMC:

    Options > Update Source > Change to Synchronize with Microsoft Update. Click OK.
    Options > Update Source > Change to Synchronize with another Windows Server Update Services server. Enter in the server name (http://server.domain.local or https://server.domain.local) and port number (8530 or 80 for HTTP and 8531 or 443 for HTTPS). If using SSL on the upstream server (hint - you should - https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/how-to-setup-manage-and-maintain-wsus-part-7-ssl-setup-for-wsus-and-why-you-should-care/), ensure the "Use SSL..." box is checked. If you want this to be a replica of the upstream server select that box. Click OK.

    Essentially you're toggling the update source but to a new source server.
