Following the GITHUB link https://github.com/Azure/AzureStackHCI-EvalGuide/blob/main/deployment/steps/1_DeployAzureVM.md to deployment of Azure VM. Since the Configure step failed followed the troubleshooting step as mentioned in the link https://github.com/Azure/AzureStackHCI-EvalGuide/blob/main/deployment/steps/1_DeployAzureVM.md#troubleshooting. However I still see the below error in the VM

The SendConfigurationApply function did not succeed.
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (root/Microsoft/...gurationManager:String) [], CimException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : MI RESULT 1
+ PSComputerName : localhost

As per the expectation I should see both EDGE and Windows Admin Center installed in the VM however I see only the Windows admin center.

I have one change done to the deployment template. Have removed the step for the configuration of Public IP as it is not allowed by our company policy. The same deployment had succeeded when it was done 3-4 months back. However have no luck this time.

    Hello there,

Have you deployed a custom image other than the deployment template modification?

To start troubleshooting, collect the activity logs to identify the error associated with the issue. Without Logs, we cannot find where the deployment fails to install Edge.

Here are some general troubleshooting steps that you can try. Troubleshoot deployment issues when creating a new Windows VM in Azure https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/troubleshoot-deployment-new-vm-windows

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

Firstly, apologies for the delay in responding here and any inconvenience this issue may have caused. The GitHub Eval Guide is out of date and no longer a supported tutorial.
Requesting you to use this new Learn document, it deploys the same virtual HCI cluster environment. Feel free to reach out if you encounter any issues.

    Hope this helps.
