Bellsouth.net email issue

Question

For some reason Outlook will no longer connect to server for Bellsouth.net. I delete my email account so that I could add it back in thinking that may help but now I am no even able to add bellsouth.net email account to outlook. I tried the auto set up, manual set up for both POP and IMAP and all of them come with the following message " We couldn't log on to the incoming (IMAP) server. Please check your email address and password and try again"

My email and password are correct as I was able to connect to windows Mail app on my laptop with it, I have gone online and log into me email address, but for some reason outlook doesn't recognize it any more. Please advise!

Note: I am able to set up new email accounts on my outlook for hotmail, gmail, and att but not bellsouth. It is an issue with bellsouth.net email address. As well, when I go to manage profiles and try to add email there, it gives me the following two errors.

   " Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)." 

   "Send test email message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server."

For some reason Outlook will no longer connect to server for Bellsouth.net.

Have you successfully added your Bellsouth account on the Outlook client before?
Did you do any specific operations before this issue happens(such as change your password, download other programs or others)?

None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server

For your errors, I did lots of research and found the “My outgoing server(SMTP) requires authentication” option in account settings may cause it, it's suggested to first check it in the Outgoing Server settings.

Also, the antivirus programs could affect the connection between your account and Outlook, please try to temporarily turn off your antivirus software to check if the issue has any difference.

If the issue still exists, as @KarenAnn4470 mentioned, it's a workaround to create a secure mail key for your email account and replace your password with secure email key in Outlook to see if the issue could be resolved.

@EleniF I also tried deleting/reinstalling - This finally worked for me - I got it from: https://windowsreport.com/bellsouth-email-not-working-in-outlook/

"You might want to try creating a secure mail key. This is basically a password that you’ll use only for Outlook.

Go to your Bellsouth profile page and click on Sign-in info.
Now select the email account that you want to create a secure mail key for.
Scroll down to the Secure mail key section and choose Manage secure mail key.
Now select Add secure mail key option.
If you want, you can enter the name for your security key in order to recognize it better. This isn’t mandatory, but it might come helpful in the future.
Now select Create secure mail key. Click Copy secure mail key to clipboard.
Click OK.
Now you just have to go to Outlook and replace your password with the secure mail key. After doing that, check if the problem is still there."
