And I'm getting this:
The domain name is "thecsharpacademy.com". I'm not sure if it has to do with the fact that it's an apex domain or if I configured something incorrectly.
Your CNAME record type is improperly configured. Your domain registration thecshparpacademy.com should have a www sub domain CNAME record pointing to yourappservice.azurewebsites.net. Your A record for your root domain looks okay to me. Let me know if after updating your CNAME record, you're still having issues.

However, I thought that could be the case, but in the troubleshooting it's said that I should configure EITHER A or CNAME records (in bold)
@Ryan Hill Also if I keep my configurations and add www cname as suggested, it still doesn't work.
@Pablo Souza you have the TXT record as recommended? In the Custom Domain portal, did add www.thecsharpacademy.com instead of the root domain? Did you purchase the domain from GoDaddy or just them as a domain registrar?
@Ryan Hill I figured out I needed a custom domain for the www website as well as the apex domain to make it work. Thanks for your help!
