Windows server 2019 Fail backup to external drive

Question

Hi I have Windows server 2019 Vm File server and i have problem for my backup.
the Disk that i wanted to Backup is 3TB GPT and Windows server Backup Is set alright.
I have 4tb Western Digital external HDD which is my Backup Location and i set it to my windows backup server
The Problem is when i want to start backup its take an hour and after that ist failed.
Error : "The Operation Failed. Retry The operation. If The issue persists, delete and then recreate scheduled backup settings. windows Backup cannot find any backup storage locations."
i tried delete the windows backup feature and add again, update , format external HDD , and set again 10 times but its failed again backup not Started!

• my other file server with Lower capacity (External and internal HDD) works fine.
• my current windows backup server detect my External HDD and looks fine tile the end of setup.

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having issues related to Backup on External disk.

1. Please try to run chkdsk /f /r on the External disk to see if any Bad sector on the Disk.
2. Please check for Logs from below location
   C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsServerBackup\
3. If you have any other USB disk then try to attach it and retry Backup operation.
