I have been struggling with this for over a week. Had to purchase a new windows development laptop and unfortunately now can’t distribute iOS app to the app store. I have tried every suggestion I can find online however nothing seems to work. This includes all new keys, both development and distribution, intermediate certs, path file lengths, the codesign environment variable, locking keychain, etc. My environment is as follows:

Visual Studio 2022 17.4
Xamarin.IOS and Xamarin.Mac SDK – 16.0.0.92

Any help here would be greatly appreciated, I’m stuck and can longer distribute app updates, very frustrating…

You could check if you have login Apple developer account by adding an individual account via Apple API Key, and View Details to check if the distribution provisioning profile exist in your Windows machine.
(Go to App Store Connect, click User and Access, go to Keys tab, choose App Store Connect API , then generate an API Key. After that, you can open VS and go to Tools-> Options-> Xamarin-> Apple Accounts -> Add-> Individual account, enter your API key. For more details, you can see Creating API Keys for App Store Connect API on developer.apple.com.)
Besides, you could check if your distribution provisioning profile is correctly, refer to: Create a Distribution Provisioning Profile

In addition, do you try to archive an ipa via VS for Mac? May I ask what you have tried? For the further investigation, could you please provide your Xcode version?

I have an Enterprise Account, do I also need an Individual Account? I have published this app many times before.

I'm using Xcode version 12.4

What I've tried:

cleared all keys from keychain
created all new dist certs and keychains
deleted obj and bin folders
locked keychain access
unlocked keychain access

Update, I tried using an Individual Account with no luck. I will add there are actually two errors

first one:
Failed to codesign '' .iOS.app: cannot find code object on disk

second one:
/usr/bin/codesign ''.iOS.app: cannot find code object on disk

You can go to Go to App Store Connect, view Membership details, then check if it is Individual or Enterprise. If you want to distribute iOS app to the App Store, it should be Individual.

You have cleared all keys from Keychain and created all new certs, so the distribution certificate in Keychain is valid, right? Have you created the distribution provisioning profile? You can refer to Create and install an App Store provisioning profile and see the Creating a distribution profile for details.

The next step is to sync or import the certificate and provisioning profile to your Windows machine, and Selecting a distribution profile in a Xamarin.iOS project.

In addition, Xcode version 12.4 is a little old, it is recommended that you use Xcode 14.0 for now. The Xcode version in AppStore is Xcode14.1 currently, you can download Xcode 14.0 from the downloads page in the Apple Developer Portal. (It's not the most import thing to archive ipa, you can solve the codesign issue first.)

So I can only install Xcode 13.2 however now I get the following error:

The Xcode version installed on the Mac (13.2) is not compatible with this version of Visual Studio.

This seems odd because Visual Studio was comapatable to Xcode 12.4.

This warning appears when you pair to Mac, right? This warning means that you are using Visual Studio 2022 17.4, you should use iOS16 SDK, Xcode 13.2 is for iOS 15 SDK. If you ignore the warning and archive again, does the /usr/bin/codesign ''.iOS.app: cannot find code object on disk error still occur? (Make sure you have selected a correct distribution profile in a Xamarin.iOS project)
