Shared files/folders for organization

Hi!

We're a quite small organization of 15 people and each employee has their own Office 365 Business Plus subscription.

We tend to collect a log of photo/image content that we want to share with the organization. We're talking about this as our "media bank" where we want to store, organize and share these photos/images. We're also thinking about other types of "shared folders" like information for all employees and maybe a shared folder for our management team. One thing that is important is that we don't want this to be "tied" to any person but we want this to be an "organization level"-thing.

Our ideal solution would be that each employee should have this shared folder(s) accessible in their OneDrive and be able to add/edit files in the shared folders.

I'm not an expert on Office 365 but I've looked at different ways that we could do this, e.g:

  • Simple solution could be to create a folder in OneDrive and share this with employees. But this seems quite cumbersome and how should "own" the folders? A dedicated "organization account"?
  • Maybe use share point?

I'm looking for a good and sustainable way to create this shared solution, I'm open to adding a subscription for the "organization" to avoid tieing this to any particular person if that is needed or the best solution.

Any pointers and ideas on how to go about solving this would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

    Hi @Markus Johansson ,

Are you using OneDrive Personal Edition? According to your requirement description, you want to share files so members can edit it together, but don't want them to be kept in everyone's OneDrive. Such requirements can be easily realized through SharePoint. Log in to your work or study account, create a library in the site to store shared files. Invite users to this site, and you can easily assign permissions to users in SharePoint. Like this:

    Home page of the site:

    Created Library:

Set user permissions(at the site level or the library level):

Can also set different permissions for the single file:
