private connection

Hello,

I have a psql database and vm setup in the same vnet/subnet. I am trying to connect to the database from the vm but getting an error "The public network access on this server is disabled. To connect to this server, use the Private Endpoint from inside your virtual network.
FATAL: SSL connection is required. Please specify SSL options and retry."

I want to connect using private connection or private endpoint. So I have created a private endpoint with sub resource type psql server. But I cannot connect to the psql database when the public access is disable.

Please suggest how to establish the private connection. I am using private dns server for the virtual network.

Hi, @Niren Adhikary (NAD) Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Can you please confirm if you have followed the steps from the document here, have you created a private endpoint? once created use RDP to connect to a VM.

Please let me know if still have any issues.

Yes I already followed the doc mentioned. I suppose we need to add an entry for private dns zone since we are using custom/on prem dns server. However, nslookup to the fqdn works.

Also if I set deny public access to No then the connection works.
