Excel range selection goes crazy.

Question

If I split an excel window, cell selection becomes unpredictable. Sometimes I merely click on a cell and it starts selecting extra cells below it, sometimes it starts selecting multiple rows of the selected columns when I press the mouse and slide across multiple columns.
This is recently new behavior.

Is this issue for all Excel workbooks, or for specific one.

• If it is for all Excel workboook, please check the Office version name and version number.
  It is recommended to run Excel in safe mode, then open files and split the window for a test. Safe mode can help us troubleshoots add-ins.
• If only a specific file have this issue, please check whether the file contains macros. You can also make a copy for it to check this issue.
