When does a reported version show in ADU

We are currently developing a product which needs ADU.

We managed to get it working, the devices will update after clicking deploy.

But in the portal we are not seeing any currently installed updates. (It will tell installed-updates: NA) in the group details page

Could you please add info of the IoTHub Region you are using?

installed-updates: NA -> Is it still shows NA after multiple updates?

We are using Region West-Europe for the IoT Hub, i tried it for a whole day and couldn't get it to work.

The firmware for our device is based on the FreeRtos ADU sample.

We got the Sample to work. but not our own version, but it's mostly just a direct copy.

I apologize for the delayed updates on this. We are still investigating the issue from our end. Could you please confirm which type of device update are you performing (image, package or script based). Can you also share a snippet of your deployment history tab masking the sensitive information.

I would like to know what you Groups and Deployments tab reports once a deployment has been made. If the deployment is successful, you should see the status similar to below

You have stated in the post that "In the portal the lastInstalledResult and the step results are shown correctly." I appreciate it if you can share a screenshot reporting this information

Can it be possible that the descriptive label can cause issues? I once set it to something but i can't seem to remove it.

Hi @Oetze van den Broek , greetings! thank you for providing the additional information. I have reviewed the shared details. I noticed from the deployment history tab screenshot you have shared; both the deployments are cancelled and not in completed state. Are there any other deployments in the history tab that are completed in the past? If so, can you share a reference image of it.

If none of the deployments succeeded, then the installed updates on the group basics would show as NA, which is the expected behavior.

Could you also clarify what you meant by the following in the original question

In the portal the lastInstalledResult and the step results are shown correctly.

I appreciate your patience and efforts in trying to resolve this issue.

With that sentence i meant that when i click on a device in the Deployment Details. it will sshow the step results as completed.

I did indeed stop/cancel a lot of updates, when the update succeeded on the device, it never showed the right version in the Portal, even though the device twin did say the device was updated.

If i don't cancel the deployment after a succesfull update on the device, the device is constantly getting the command to update.

Additional information which might be useful for other community members!

Make sure that the device has a stable network connectivity and is properly reporting its update status to the IoT hub by checking the device's twin properties in the IoT hub. If possible please verify the IoTHub and Device logs for any reported issues! Device update needs stable connection during update process, please make sure there are no disconnections during update process.
