Hyper V pc independence?

Due to wanting to run a program constantly I recently began looking into a vm. Is Hyper V something that will keep running after I shut down my pc or will my pc need to be on to run the VM?

    Hi

    the PC hosting Hyper-V and your VM needs to be powered on to run the VM as there are dependencies on Networking and underlying Storage.

    If you need something that is always on, you could look at an Azure Free Trial. You get 12 months of some services free, including B-Series Windows and Linux VM.
