Hello,

I need to know the entry that ScanPST creates when a file is deleted. This is pertaining to the following Microsoft article:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/troubleshoot/data-files/how-to-repair-personal-folder-file

Point 5 in the Folders section states "If that validation fails, the message or folder is considered corrupted, and it is removed from the table and deleted from the database."

I need to know what the log entry looks like for these kinds of deletions. The article, mentions several types of entries but does not answer what the deletion log entry looks like.

Many Thanks

    Hi @Warren Weston ,

I need to know what the log entry looks like for these kinds of deletions

As the article mentioned “Also, this specific kind of situation is rare, and it will always be entered in the ScanPST log file. ” , the deleted items should be entered in your log file, which is created automatically when you run scanpst.exe to repair your data file.

Due to there's no corrupted data file in my test environment now, I may not be able to find the deleted entry in my Logs after scaning them. Then I have researched a lot about it, but haven't found other related article that mentioned how to check the specific scanpst log file. Based on my research, I found similar items in others' log file like below, which seems to is a deleted item but doesn't specify which kind of deletions. Hope that would also be helpful to you.
