FSlogix Cloud cache locations, not being able to properly logout while not connected to the network.

I'm trying to transition from roaming profiles to fslogix in an environment where laptops, desktops and remote desktop connections are being used. I tried to set up Cloud cache for the laptops but I seem to have encountered an issue. If there's a laptop that first mounts a profile from the SMB share and then gets taken home where it has no connection to the share, it will experience issues logging out. As in it gets stuck during the log out process. I've tried playing around with ClearCachonLogoff but that doesn't seem to resolve the issue. I'm kind of new at this so could anyone be as kind as to give me so tips?

    Hello @Jordi Smeets

With the VHD file cached locally, you will see some improved performance in some scenarios. Reads should be serviced very quickly in that scenario. Writes still need to be written out to the network locations, and using CCD usually means that you're writing significantly more data, since you're writing it to multiple locations.

while using CCD, the data is being flushed out continuously, but depending on the speed of the connections to your SMB servers, it could get backed up. The FSLogix service will try to flush the local changes to the remote systems about twice a second, IIRC. So on a fast connection your disks should stay very up-to-date.

    Best Regards
    Karlie

Hi, I have a similar problem. What can cause a endless logout process when using cloud cache? What can lock the system when using CC? Best Regards Joachim

I've seen this behavior with CA (continuously available) share enabled on the primary cloud cache provider. Simulate failure and end up in endless logout loop. Nothing in FSLogix logs. No CA and works fine.
