my screen keeps blinking too

My Win 10 system monitor keeps blinking. It seems similar to this: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d646ec6c-56e1-4154-8101-b527432748be/my-screen-keeps-blinking?forum=win10itprogeneral

I did not make any changes myself, but the system recently installed the following:

  1. Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime 89.0.774.54
  2. Mozilla Firefox 86.0.1
  3. Microsoft 365 -en -us 16.0.13801.20294
  4. Microsoft Edge 89.0.774.50

(the WebView2 Runtime was probably because of me looking for system updates to fix the blinking).

The blinking starts intermittently, but once it starts, it is very annoying and I cannot use the computer. At first, it only flashed when it showed the desktop pictures (no other apps running). I cycled through the choices in Personalize -> Background. That seemed to stop the blinking.

It now blinks primarily while using Microsoft Edge browser and also Google Chrome browser. (possibly when they are maximized). Mozilla Firefox works okay. The monitor seems to work correctly when looking at control panel stuff (without starting browsers)

    Hello @WellingtonWimpy

Please check if below two threads could help:
    Screen flickering in some applications
    Some Programs seem to flicker

you could also post in Microsoft Community , users there are more familiar with this issue and are better at solving it.

    Thanks Karlie.

I tried the "Roll back driver" approach. It seems to work (it is intermittent, so I will watch it for some time)

The "Roll back driver" approach did not work.

Now, I am trying the "Uninstall your display driver" approach, as described here:

(fyi. there is a step missing between step 3 and step 4. You have to 'uninstall driver' before 'delete the driver').

    Does this make a difference?

I bought a new computer before Thanksgiving and it only has HDMI. My monitor is only VGA, so I bought an HDMI -> VGA adapter. It worked well from early December until early March.
