On premise Sharepoint 2016 and OOS issue

Hi All,

Wierd issue with our on premise solution. We have Sharepoint 2016 and OOS hosted on different servers.
Some users are experiencing an issue when browsing sharepoint and editing a file in the web browser, after a certain amount of time they get error messages
79608-image.png

79560-image.png

Now they can still open the document in full Excel/Word and working on it but they can't do anything regards to document editing in the browser. Can't even view them.

Interestingly this issue goes away after about an hour.

This has to be a timeout/lockout issue but I can't find anything that would do this and found nothing fruitful on the usual searches.
There is nothing obvious about this in the ULS logs unless I am missing something.
Possibly these two messages?>
Show error dialog. ErrorType: 16 offline
HostIntegrationMessenger instantiated before full app settings ready

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, @Chris Blakey ,

Besides what trevor has said, you can check the Office Web App farm status with the cmdlet

    Get-OfficeWebAppsFarm
    Get-OfficeWebAppsMachine

For the log, use the cmdlet (Get-OfficeWebAppsFarm).LogLocation to get the log location and check the log for more information.

I have seen this extract issue after switching your OOS farm from HTTP to HTTPS. You may find that after making a connection to HTTP, the HTTPS zone starts working without the session errors while editing / opening document with OOS.

If you this the case, check your AAM's to ensure the SharePoint URL you are accessing is the default zone.
