I have some old MS Money files from about 2007; the version they were used for was Money 1998 I think. All I need to do is to open the .MNY files in a (OEM) version 12 of MS Money, and then export to .QIF files. I have no need of MS Money trying to access the internet for this task, so need to know how to stop MS Money from accessing the internet please.

Under Tools | Options , there is 'Online Services' and 'Connection' with a number of options. Can Windows 8.1 have a rule for internet access, by program name ? meaning is there a setting from within Windows to block MS Money from trying to access the internet ? (I haven't used Windows for a few years )

All I need to do is to open the .MNY files in a (OEM) version 12 of MS Money, and then export to .QIF files.

Just disable your WIFI/NIC connection, run the export, and then reenable network connectivity.

You could defined a rule in the firewall, but if you only need to run the export once it's easier to just temporarily disable the NIC.

Thanks for your reply. I did think of that, but as there may be quite a number of times that I have to use Money, I was hoping for some sort of setting or configuration to stop it. Thanks for your help.
