Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question I would like to confirm. If we will use the Setup Wizard to install Exchange CU, do we still need to run the preparation commands below?

E:\Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareSchema
E:\Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareAD
E:\Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareDomain

Thank You!

    Hi @Noctis0791 ,
We could know the following information from the Microsoft's official article: Prepare Active Directory and domains. Therefore, if we use the installation wizard to install Exchange CU, there is no need to manually prepare the schema, AD, and domain. But it’s always right to run it manually. As Adny said, you can ensure that your account has the correct permissions.

There are a couple of ways you can prepare Active Directory for Exchange. The first is to let the Exchange 2013 Setup wizard do it for you. If you don't have a large Active Directory deployment, and you don't have a separate team that manages Active Directory, we recommend using the wizard.

I always recommend you run each separately.

Why? Because this ensures that the correct permissions are applied - especially for the PrepareAD step

    Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareSchema
    Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareAD
    Setup.exe /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms /PrepareAllDomains
