Hello everybody :)

I discovered a mistake while I checked why some users were not able to access to a DFS Namespace.

I have 3 namespace servers for a DFS namespace and for one of the namespace servers, I'm unable to find the "DFSRoots" folder and the associated shares not exists

Can I recreate this folder and associated share without deleting the namespace server from the DFS namespace ?

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

Based on provided information, I have done some tests in my lab. In your scenario, if the "DFSRoots" folder was disappeared, you just need recreate a folder named "DFSRoots" manually and do not need delete the namespace server.

However, please kindly note that you need to delete the existed namespaces, recreate and associate the folder targets.

Meanwhile, attaching the following screenshot of DFS Namespace for your reference.

Due to an incident today, I just deleted the namespace servers from the impacted namespaces, and recreated

The DFSRoots folder is now OK :)
