I get the message "To protect your security, some settings are managed by your system administrator" when accessing the BitLocker settings in My PC, trying to access the BitLocker settings for Drive C: which is on an SSD, using Windows 10 Professional. It's not supposed to be the Business edition and it doesn't say it is when I look. I have the latest build and am in the Insider Preview Builds program for Beta builds. This is a stand-alone computer in my home, not connected to any business or school accounts. I AM the System Admin!! What does this mean and does it affect anything? Thanks for your help. Randy

    Hi,
    Did you have any problems with BitLocker? This should not have any affect.
    This is probably because if UAC enabled then your local administrator account is running with Standard credentials until elevated temporarily; or otherwise it's just a standard disclaimer that most of the settings require Administrator-level privileges (either local or remote).
    If everything is working it isn't a big deal.

    It restricts access to the BitLocker functions on Drive C: The only functions it allows are: Suspend protection, Back up your recovery key, and Turn off BitLocker. The other drives have 6 functions available.

    I read on another thread that this message only appears if you have the Business Edition of Windows 10. Is this true? If so, how do I check it? When I check the version, it says I have Windows 10 Professional.

    Hi,
    According to my research, it will be displayed on both the pro and enterprise editions.
    You could look in the local group policy editor under computer>admin templates>windows components>BitLocker drive encryption. Check every setting in there .

    Because the C drive is a system drive, it is different.
