Hi Tech support,

Some of our users are affected by this issue and i have configured root permission , authenticate users, gpupdate , remap shared drive , turn off sync center offline files , network package is smooth without breaking, office365 update on local computer/Laptop but still doesn't resolve it.

What could be the main cause for this issue beside checking on VM HDD or migrate to a new shared drive? Thanks.

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

Based on provided information, my understanding is there is a shared folder on Windows server 2016, Windows client can access to the shared folder, but cannot open/edit/rename specific files successfully. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Before we go further, I would like confirm the following information with you:

    A. Please help to confirm that the user has both NTFS permissions and share permissions to read, write and modify the shared folder.

    B. If the users permission has been granted, may I know whether the issue only occurred when opening Office 365 documents or also occurred when opening other type files. What about opening a txt file?

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

    Hi SunnyQi-MSFT

    Below statement is correct.

"Windows server 2016, Windows client can access to the shared folder, but cannot open/edit/rename specific files successfully". The text file can create , but once edited/ rename, the file or folder will disappear and it will reappear after around 30 sec -1 min.

I have checked that users who has the access to shared folder have read/write permission. It has occurred mostly on office365 files. Some of my existing users has no issue on the same shared drive. Thanks.
