Hello friends,

I'm planning to run nano server hyper-v host from SD Card. Both server and SD Card are from HP (DL380p Gen8).

How do I take back up of this SD Card or the Nano Server Hyper-V host? If this option is not provided (that's my understanding from searching the internet) what alternative recovery mechanisms you recommend?

Can I pop-in another SD Card with Hyper-V Host role, setup vSwitches and import VMs?

Let me know your concerns, solutions, tips and tricks!

    Hi,

    >How do I take back up of this SD Card or the Nano Server Hyper-V host?

AFAIK, there is no backup solution on nano server level .

    >Can I pop-in another SD Card with Hyper-V Host role, setup vSwitches and import VMs?

Yes , you can import VMs .

This should be a workaround for backup.
