Hi,

I am looking at the pricing calculator relating to Virtual Machines and wanted to know if the OS disk is included in the price or if you need to account for the cost of the (128Gig disk)

If I need to account for the OS disk in the calculator, would I just add in storage, managed disk at either P10, S10 or E10 being that the smallest disk seems to be 128Gig now for production.

Appreciate your help,

regards,

Paul.

That is correct the pricing that you see is for CPU and RAM along with OS license, the cost for the Managed disk needs to be added separately whether you go for Premium , Standard SSD or standard HDD

The only thing thats included in the price is the temp disk which is used by the OS for the paging operation and it depends on the size of the VM d4s_v3 will have a smaller size of temp db than a d16sv_3 . the cost of the temp Drive is included in the price of the VM

You are also correct by default it gives you an OS disk of 128 GB

    Hi,

For an Azure VM using Standard storage for the OS drive (C) you only pay for what you use. It's thin provisioned at 128 GB, but if you only use 10GB, then you only pay for 10GB. For Premium Storage, you pay for the full amount you reserve.

    Best regards,
    Leon
