Hello...

I have created a VPN gateway with P2S connection. Al steps in this page https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-howto-point-to-site-resource-manager-portal were succesfully completed.

I have downloaded thr VPN Client, and when I run VpnClientSetupAmd64.exe, 2 cmd windows appear for a while and then close. Nothing else happens afterwards.

Gateway SKU I used was VpnGw1

What may be going on?

Thanks
Jaime

I think the application installs silently. Are you sure it hasn't installed? Do a search for 'Azure VPN' on your device.

    Hello anonymous usertuardo-5606 ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & hope you are doing well.

Sometimes, the VPN package installer doesn't complete and this problem can be caused by the previous VPN client installations.

To resolve this issue, please follow the below solution:
Delete the old VPN client configuration files from C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections<VirtualNetworkId> and run the VPN client installer again.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue.

    Hello @GitaraniSharma-MSFT ,

Thanks for your help. I could finally install the VPN, however, I am very disappointed with this, because my goal to use Azure VPN was to be able to browse web sites which only allow connections from USA. However, I have realized that Azure VPN is only for connecting to resources in the same Azure network.

    Regards
    Jaime

    Hello anonymous usertuardo-5606 ,

Forced tunneling is supported on P2S VPN via custom routes and that forces all traffic from the client to Azure. You can direct all traffic to the VPN tunnel by advertising 0.0.0.0/1 and 128.0.0.0/1 as custom routes to the clients.
    Reference : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-p2s-advertise-custom-routes#forced-tunneling

Note : Internet connectivity is not provided through the VPN gateway. As a result, all traffic bound for the Internet is dropped.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue.
