I have an old .NET framework app which used Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Vs.dll.
I want to know whether this is redistributable? if not can we point to download from Microsoft site, where user of our application can download it?

II found this nuget package too, but the nuget package doesnt have any license info. hence it can not be re-distributed.
My main problem is, How do i provide this DLL to Customer? can I directly package it with my product? am I allowed to redistribute it? if not, then in what way i can supply it to customer?
The Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Vs.dll in the package is copyrighted by Microsoft if you check the propeties
There is also the official Setup from Microsoft Visual Basic Power Packs 10.0
with Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.dll
(installed on my OS in : C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\VBPowerPacks\v12.0\Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.dll)
which uses the same namespaces and modules

I looked at the post you pointed out. As mentioned before, I don't need the DLL or the download package, but a proof, whether the DLL can be redistributed.
I want a substantial post from Microsoft that says the download package it self can be packaged as part of my product, OR the DLL can be shipped directly (as a re-distributable) . This particular thing is not written anywhere. Unless i show a substantial proof from Microsoft, my organization will not allow me to redistribute this DLL/package to customer.
the post mentions 'http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vsdata/archive/2009/12/29/visual-basic-powerpacks-is-released-in-visual-studio-2010-beta2.aspx' link, this link is not opening. So basically i have no proof from Microsoft that this dll can be redistributed.
The only option remains is, don't package the DLL and ask my product user to go to download link, and install it themselves. Although this sounds straight forward, my users will not find it easy because its not straight forward for them. Besides, if I just get a proof that it is redistributable, then all this trouble is saved (I can simply package it and my users dont have any action). Hope you understand what i am looking for now

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/visualstudio/visual-studio-2013/cc488277(v=vs.120) seems to imply that you don't need permission to distribute the DLL. I am not a lawyer.
This does not work in Visual Studio 2022 which is a 64 bit platform only. I have tried to install the Nuget package and downloaded the Microsoft Visual Basic Power Packs 10.0. Neither are working, I am going to try and load the .dll from an old computer in moment and see if I can get that to work.
UPDATE: I got it installed and the errors are gone, but now I cannot get the toolbox to load the controls. Need to find a new 64bit control package, with some nice controls.

You can create any control without external DLLs or embed WPF controls or use WinUI3, ...
The last version of the free Visual Basic Power Packs 3.0 that worked reliably, even on VB2022, was version 9.0.30214.0 (versions 10 and 12 do not work on VB2022). The 9.0 version can still be found online, except at Microsoft Downloads. There are free software archiving sites still out there that still carry it. Just search for "Visual Basic Power Packs" and explore non-MS sites. The only drawback is we must build for Win32 platforms under .NET 3-4 Framework.
Though this response is a year late, the older version 9 of Visual Basic Power Packs will work just fine under VB2022 on .NET 3-4 Framework builds. Version 10 and 12 had added even more ActiveX/OLE2 dependence, rendering them into ActiveX Controls, making them unworkable under VB2022 (just like the AVI Animation and MAPI Controls, which were ActiveX Controls). Yet, version 8 and 9, built I think for VB2008, and then being Win32 controls, work just fine.
