We recently unregistered our DW management server from the SCSM 2019 management server, and then rebuilt the DW mgmt. server. This was done to try and correct issues where a handful of management packs would fail to sync with the DW mgmt. server after registering with SCSM mgmt. server despite multiple efforts.
As I was preparing to install UR2 on the new DW mgmt. server, I noticed in the Microsoft documentation it says that the DW should have "...successfully synced with the SCSM mgmt. server at least once without any Management Packs in the "Pending Disassociation," "Pending Association," or "Imported" status."
This seems to imply that I may have problems when I try to register my 'new' DW mgmt. server with the SCSM mgmt. server, since that server already has UR2 installed.
Should I try to register with the SCSM server prior to installing UR2? Or should I go ahead and install UR2, and then register with the SCSM server? Does this make sense?

I have a bad feeling that I'm going to ultimately have to uninstall the Service Manager bits from my management servers, then reinstall them, then register with the DW, let the first round of MPs sync, and THEN install UR2 on everything. Frustrating.

Does that mean you change the server name? Here is a reference for the issue with respect to rename DW server.
Do you still have the backup of your encryption key for the DW?
