Choosing Region for Resources

Hello hello,

We created our account years and years ago, and though we are in Canada, our tenant region is set to United States. My question is- if I am creating subscriptions, resources, resource groups, new environments for power apps etc. in this tenant, is it best to always select United States as the region for those? Or can I select Canada going forward now? What does this all affect?

Thanks in advance,

-T

    Update:
I put in a support ticket for this question because this received no response. Here is the answer I was given from Microsoft Support:

"Please note that you can choose any region(if available ) when deploying resources irrespective of the region your tenant is domiciled. However selecting a region close to your location when prompted is advisable as this ensures low latency and as such high connectivity for your services."

Hi @Torrey Falconer , I'm sorry for the delay in response! The support ticket response is correct. The region just helps with latency and connection. If you have any other questions I can answer them!

    Best,
    James
