Hey Guys,

I'm fighting with the old problem of running out of DHCP addresses. I tried expanding my scope but it's not working, I must be doing something wrong.

The original scope was 194.23.12.0/24. So then I created a new scope ranging from 194.23.12.1 to 194.23.15.254 with a Subnet mask of 255.255.252.0

What happens is that the devices that get the 194.23.12.x are able to connect with no issues. But the next ones on the range 194.23.13.x aren't able to connect to the network. Default Gateway is correct, DHCP is correct, DNS is correct, but no connection.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

While you have increased the range and changed the subnet mask of the IP addresses that are issued by the DHCP server, have you changed the subnet mask on the servers and network devices? So that the network stack on these device recognises the traffic as being on the same subnet.

    Gary.
