Every time I open VS to work I get a notification saying that I have to install an update. I click on it, I try to install the update, the installer downloads, but when it has to install gives an error saying that: "another program is blocking the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer or a file inside it. Close the applications that could be using it and try again." But I'm not running any other program that could be using it. I tried reestarting the pc, but no way. I also tried to repair and Uninstall VS but since I have to update it doesn't let me access to the VS installer either.

I got to find a solution. Is not the most recomended, since deletes all the files in the VS' folder, but in my case it worked. I used the Installcleanup.exe that appears in the VS' folders. It cleaned all the instalations folders, I restarted the pc and after that I needed to install VS again, but didn't get any error anymore for now.

    Hi, @Noa Franco Rico

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

You can run InstallCleanup.exe to Remove Visual Studio. I'm afraid your device's antivirus software has blocked the update of Visual Studio.

    Sincerely,
    Peng
