Stuck reminder in office 365

Question

I have recieved a support ticket from one of my customers talking about a reminder he has been getting over the past few weeks for an aganda item that no longer exists and it keeps comming back after he dismisses it.

outlook.exe /clearreminders, MFCMAPI, outlook.exe /cleandmrecords, outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy and emptying offline items in the aganda property's have all not worked.

are there any other options i can try ?

Did you mean you have followed the resolutions in this link: Calendar reminders in Outlook can't be dismissed or keep reappearing?
And would you please share with us the detailed steps of how you use MFCMAPI to solve the issue? Did you delete the Reminder folder and let Outlook recreate it?

If the resolutions didn't work for you, as a workaround, please try enabling "Automatically dismiss reminders for past calendar events" in Outlook and see if it can help with the issue.

Hi @Jeff Vannoppen !

I had the exact same issue and while performing the troubleshooting steps at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/calendars/cannot-dismiss-outlook-calendar-reminders found that this had not helped solve the issue.

But a few extra steps in the MFCMAPI app will fix the issue!

In the above link, under topic 'Resolution #2', instead of 'Right-click the Reminders folder, and then click Delete folder' - double click on the Reminders folder instead.

This will open a list of reminder items - and the contents will match what Outlook pops up with in the Reminder window.

Simply find the reminder item(s) that do not seem to clear out, right click each one and click 'Delete message'. A popup will appear confirming which type of delete you want to perform, select 'Permanent delete passing DELETE_HARD_DELETE (unrecoverable)'.

When done, exit MFCMAPI and then start Outlook. It should instantly solve the issue, however, allow the mailbox to sync.
