Blocking a domain in Outlook Junk settings does not seem to work

Starting a couple of days ago, I am getting inundated with spam e-mail from mountindburoto.xyz I added this domain to my block list under Junk settings but I am still getting e-mails from this domain. Just to be clear, the e-mails I am getting have a crazy domain name that always ends in .mountindburoto.xyz I tried entering *.mountindburoto.xyz but the * was not accepted. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong and how should I properly specify the domain so I no longer receive e-mail from this domain?

    Hi YukiSun-MSFT,
I should have been more clear on which Outlook I was referring to. Based on your screenshots, it looks like you are referring to the Outlook app that comes with Microsoft Office. I was referring to the Outlook website that was formerly known as Hotmail. Even so the settings are very similar. Here is a screenshot of my setting in regards to blocking mountindburoto.xyz

So your understanding is correct. Your suggestion of using a rule to delete these spam e-mails is a good one and I will keep that in mind but it looks like the problem has resolved itself for now. The last spam e-mail I got was over 12 hours. They were coming in every 15 minutes or so. My guess is that I did everything correct and it simply took almost 3 days for the setting to take effect.

    Hi @Claudio Tarabocchia ,

From your description, do you mean you have already tried adding the root domain of the spam senders into the Junk email options but their messages can still reach your Inbox?

If this describes your situation, as far as I know, normally we can indeed block mails from all subdomains using this way. But in case the spams you received just manage to bypass the Junk Email options in any unknown method, I'd suggest trying to create some inbox rules to deal with these junk emails:

    1. In Outlook, go to Home > Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts....
    2. Click New Rule, choose Apply rule on messages I receive, Next.

    3. Choose "With specific words in the sender's address", type in the root domain of the spam senders, click Next.

    4. In the Actions part, you can choose "Move it to the specified folder" and select Junk Email folder, or you may choose "delete it" or "permanently delete it" on the basis of your needs:

    5. Click Next, specify a name for the rule, and you can choose "Run this rule now on messages already in Inbox" if you want, then click Finish.
