Hi,

Currently, we have RDS configured on Windows Server 2012 R2 and is being used. We have total of 37 servers in our ABC domain out of which 2 gateway servers, 1 broker server, and 15 session host servers.

We are planning on upgrading to Windows Server 2019 and using RDS on them. For that purpose, we spun up a new set of Virtual machines with W S 2019 and joined to our abc domain. I just want to make sure that deploying RDS on Windows Server 2019 wouldn't harm the current Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS.

Thanks,

If you plan to build 2 different farms (different RD Broker / RD session Hosts / Web / Gateway) in that case, there is no issues.

For the licensing server, if a user connect to the 2019 farm and receive a 2019 RDS CAL, this CAL will work for the 2012 R2 farm as well. But the opposite will not work.
