Windows 11 Notepad no longer uses HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive and window position cannot be accessed

With Windows 11, Notepad now uses the WC registry hive. Previously Notepad used HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Notepad to save window position and other information. My use case is to set values where Notepad should appear on screen then open Notepad. Now I cannot do that because the WC registry hive is loaded when Notepad loads, then unloaded when Notepad unloads. This change breaks my functionality and I must find other means to display generated text and log files, not using Notepad which is a standard Windows utility. Does anyone know a workaround?
