I can't access to wsl and the terminal shows "Data invalid [ process exits with code 4294967295 ]", how could I solve this issue or extract my data from wsl.145645-%E5%B1%8F%E5%B9%95%E6%88%AA%E5%9B%BE-2021-11-02-101139.jpg

I have the same issue, and interestingly when I search on the internet this is the only related discussion (which is published 10hrs ago..)]

Which windows version are you using btw?

Hi I've encountered the same issue today and wonder if that's something to do with the expiry date configured in the insider problem build. My PC doesn't seem to supports TPM2 and hence unable to proceed to Windows 11. Any workaround?

Under WSL2, the entire filesystem is kept in a virtual HDD file named ext4.vhdx. You can find it in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\CanonicalGroup...\LocalState\ext4.vhdx. The ... part will vary depending on the exact Ubuntu version you installed from the Store.

Back up this file before reinstalling Windows. Make sure WSL is not running at all via a wsl --shutdown (assuming you can still access that command). If you can't wsl --shutdown, at least reboot Windows before backing up the file, to make sure it is not in use. You could also run in safe mode, if you really want to be sure.
