Does anyone have a work around for syncing Sharepoint 2016 locally when you have Office 2019 installed?

Ive followed the instructions here
https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Install-the-previous-OneDrive-for-Business-sync-client-with-Office-and-SharePoint-37b3dddd-30af-4294-aba8-c290cea01b5d

Whenever I try to install groove/one drive for business 2016 am getting a error due to office 2019 being installed this office 2016 component cant be installed. (see image)

    Hi @tg
Per my knowledge, there is no method to sync Sharepoint 2016 locally when you have Office 2019 installed as Office 2019 and 2016 could not be installed at the same time:

    1. You could not install two products together that have the same version but use different installation technologies.
    2. You could not install two products together that use different versions of the Click-to-Run installation technology, if those products have overlapping Office applications.

Thanks you for the response @Yi Lu_MSFT
So no plans for backward compatibility for OneDrive to work with older Sharepoint versions or other ways around this problem?
really disappointed, ended up with a really poor work around, created virtual desktop (AWS Workspace), installed ondrive for business, shared the sync folder with my primary laptop via mapped drive, access files locally that way
