MIM Certificate Management centralized smart-card enrollment options

Dear all,
since centralized enrollment (enrolling smart card and distributing it with certificates and pin letters) is not supported in Modern App in MIM Certificate Management, what are options for centralized enrollment process? Is the ActiveX + IE (or IE Edge Mode?) the only option?
IE Supports ends on 15th of June 2022 but MIM CM SP2 support should last until jan 2026, seems in a conflict for me.
