Hi, fairly new to Azure security.

I want to create an Azure AD group to manage access to resources. I also want to use that group as a distribution group. Plus, I want to use that group to send emails out so I'd need a shared mailbox.

Is this possible with Azure AD groups or do I need to do these separately? I'm really unsure about the shared mailbox. I've reviewed docs and still not getting a clear answer.

Any help is appreciated!

It really depends on how you plan to use it. The "new" Microsoft 365 Groups are a combination of a DG and a shared mailbox, and can also be security-enabled, however they are not universally supported for delegating permissions across all workloads. So you might need to use good old mail-enabled security group instead.
