When I try to access a shared folder, I get the message "You do not have permission to access this folder.

I am using Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard as a shared folder.

The other day, I changed the gest account from off to on (I don't know if this has anything to do with it), and now the folder that I was able to share is no longer accessible. (You can see the text below.)

After that, I tried to turn off the gest account, but the same problem persists.

Please let me know how to fix this.

When I type "\192.168.0.100\ABC" in the address bar of Explorer, the following message appears

I can't access \\192.168.0.100\ABC

You do not have permission to \\192.168.0.100\ABC. Please request access permission from your network administrator.

Please contact your network administrator for permission.

    Thank you for your question and reaching out.

    I can understand you are facing with accessing shared folder in Windows 2008 server.

    Kindly follow\check below steps towards to resolve this issue.

    1. Verify Shared permission of this folder - > Select the Users folder and specify Properties/Sharing then select Everybody with Read permission.
    2. Change Ownership and add OwnerName as a USER
      Select Security Tab and then ADVANCED at the bottom.
      Here you can edit the permissions for existing users and\or add another..
      Click "CHANGE" next to Owner at the top of the window...

    Select.

    1. Advanced
    2. Find Now
    3. Select User from list...Your user name, or any you want to add.
    4. check the box "Replace Owner On Subcontainers and Objects"
    5. Hit "Apply"
    1. Disable any Antivirus program or Windows firewall you may have for temporary purpose.
