Office Online Server and Chromium Edge

Office online server (oos) is broken in chromium based browser including new Edge.

This is because of chromium removal of xhr request on page leave (v80). Hence file will not be saved when user exit the page since session will not be closed by the leaving event callback.

There seems to be no new oos release since November 2018. Surely it is due for an update right? There are still people depending on these on premise solutions.

    Make sure you're applying OOS patches. The current patch is https://support.microsoft.com/help/4484470.

    With that being said, I have no issues with OOS and saving documents using Edge Canary/Google Chrome.

    Thank you for your feedback on this issue. According to our policy, I can't test with the chromium you mentioned, but in Chrome, Edge, IE, OOS works fine.

    Based on your description, I think you may have found the real reason, and it seems that the only solution so far is to use a different browser.

    As you know, the latest OOS version so far is November 2018.
