Continue processing a file after shows a message for the user

Hello, I have this software where I can upload excels, sometimes the file is extensive and the user have to wait for a long time for the software analise the file. So I want to show a message for the user that tells, it gonna take some time and he can do other things while it, but when the message is showed, the reading process continue, it don't stop.
Because th process that I use nowadays is that, if the file contains more than a limit specified by me, it cancels the process and the file is not analised.
