Well, from what I understand, user's OneDrive is a Sharepoint site in the backend, but a private one lets say. I am considering migrating fileshare (homedrives) to OneDrive and migration requires user's site to be precreated as stated in Microsoft Learn.

So, my question is, if I enable GPO setting (from OD GPO) which enables automatic sign in with Windows credentials and known folders migration, will their OneDrive site (explained above) be created automatically, meaning that I do not have to create it by myself via PowerShell like migration requires?

Hi @Domagoj Novak ,

According to your description, per my knowledge it will not create a new onedrive site but this migration will migrate file to specific user's personal onedrive site if you enable automatic sign in with Windows credentials and known folders migration.

that is also my understanding, but that specific user's personal OneDrive site is created at what point? At the point of first time user sign in into OneDrive or with license assignment or something else?

Per my test when user have Licenses they will have a OneDrive personal site.
