Hi.
I've tried 4 times over the past couple of months to update my version of Windows 10 from version 1909 to 2004.
It downloads and starts the process fine. Goes to 30ish%, reboots, continues to 75%. Reboots.
Then freezes at the circular loading bar on my Bios splash screen.
I power it off, it tries to install again, crashes at the same point.
Power off again and it rolls back the updates.
My system
Ryzen 2700
Gigabyte B450 Gaming motherboard (Latest bios F51 installed)
MSI 8GB RX 580
16GB Corsair 3000Mhz Ram.
Kingston A400 240GB SSD
512GB Sabrent Rocket NVME
1TB Western Digital HDD

I have all the latest bios and graphics drivers installed. I'm pretty PC savvy. I've looked around the forums etc and can't seem to find a solution to this problem.

The latest I tried is by resetting Wuauserv, cryptS, bits and msiserver in Command Prompt as admin.

Same issue.

I've had no issues before. Cumulative update (KB456616) just installed fine. Windows Update downloads and attempts to install it but to no avail.

Is there a known issue with my hardware? Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi. So just to confirm - If I update via USB start up and it fails - Do I lose everything in my C: drive on the divine hope that a clean install of Windows 2004 doesn't fail like the multiple updates have?
Yeah, think I'm gonna back up some programs....This is nonsense, man. It's not like I'm using obscure hardware.

I have done all this same thing as user above is showing... updates 1909 all fine but not been able to break out of that... I wouldnt worry minus the system is now telling me support on the version will cease in May. Below is what hardware we are running, both systems will not update, both running nvme drives. My wife has a B450 Asus but a traditional SSD no issue. I really am at wits end here...

    I am running
    Asus Crosshair VIII Hero X570
    64 gigs ram
    SB-RKTQ-1TB Main OS drive.

    Ironically my Son has an
    Asus x570 Strix Gaming-F
    32 gigs ram
    SB-RKTQ-512G
