sharepoint migration error 0x01710009

I just started getting this error when migrating a simple sharepoint list item. I cannot find any information on what might be a solution. Any ideas?

The microsoft documentation is fairly vague below in what it says. I've tried it several times, to new lists, different lists, different sites. It doesn't seem to matter.

0x01710009 A failure occurred due to job end failures; some items failed in the package. Restart migration.

0x01710009 Errors or timeout for Server Processing the file: Not all the items in the package have been migrated.

I'm moving from sharepoint 2010 on prem to sharepoint online using the sharepoint migration utility. What adjustments can I make to have this work more reliably? Is there a timeout setting on my on prem sharepoint server that I need to adjust?

    Hi @Tyler Lachaussie ,

I'm glad to hear you solve the problem ,if you have any issue about SharePoint, you are welcome to raise a ticket in this forum.

By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others.". and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A, I would make a brief summary of this thread:

    Issue Symptom:

I'm moving from sharepoint 2010 on prem to sharepoint online using the sharepoint migration utility. I just started getting this error when migrating a simple sharepoint list item.

0x01710009 A failure occurred due to job end failures; some items failed in the package. Restart migration.

0x01710009 Errors or timeout for Server Processing the file: Not all the items in the package have been migrated.

    Solution:
    Based on TylerLachaussie-6312's answer:

Migrate the same list to multiple sites as a test in the same site collection. Once the extra list is removed and removed from the recycle bin the migration completed.

    Current status:
    Eventually, migration is complete.

does 2010 on-prem server allows internet connections? Can it be blocked e.g. by firewall there?

It worked once, now it won't work. If I attempt to migrate to a new site, the structure is migrated, but none of the list items are migrated. Only the list fields, types ect are migrated. I don't think its a connection issue.

    Hi @Tyler Lachaussie ,

For SPMT, here are the Failure summary report and Item Failure report in the migration report, which can help you see which files have problems. The complete migration record can be viewed in the migration log.
You can try to view and share the complete migration log error report of the item in question. If errors are reported in different locations and sites, will you please categorize the error reports based on each migration you made with the specific migration settings (like location and other settings)? It will be great help for troubleshooting if we can make the scope clear. Once the scope has been determined, the error-reporting file or item can be found from the relevant reports and settings. Then take out the file that reported the error first and try to migrate again.
The specific migration report and log path can be jumped by clicking on the Migration details or View reports.

I believe I found the solution. I was migrating the same list to multiple sites as a test within the same site collection. Once the extra lists were deleted and removed from the recycle bin the migration completed.
