Each Windows operating system has supported CPU.

These are the supported Intel CPU for Windows 11:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

Most computers that run WIndows 10 can run Windows 11 in a supported or unsupported fashion.

This includes desktops, laptops, and tablets.

If upgrading in the unsupported fashion the user will likely not benefit from the improvements in performance, reliability, and security.

If you choose to upgrade in an unsupported fashion make sure that you make free backup images so that you can always return to WIndows 10.

There is a default 10 day go back period that can be modified to 60 days.

However the go back feature could fail.

This is a link on how to upgrade in an unsupported fashion:

If your processor isn't supported, you can keep using Windows 10 which is supported through 2025.

    Also, as per Microsoft:

Installing Windows 11 on PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements is not recommended and may result in compatibility issues. If you proceed with installing Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and won't be entitled to receive updates.

I understand that you're facing compatibility issues with your laptop and Windows 11 due to the processor you have, i7-7700HQ @2.80GHz. Here are a few options you can consider:

    1.      Check system requirements: Make sure that all other system requirements for Windows 11 are met. These requirements include a compatible TPM version, sufficient RAM, and available storage space. If any other requirement is not met, it could also contribute to the incompatibility.

    2.      Verify BIOS settings: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up to date. Sometimes, updating the BIOS can add compatibility for newer operating systems. Check the manufacturer's website for any available BIOS updates specifically addressing Windows 11 compatibility.

    3.      Contact the manufacturer: Reach out to the manufacturer of your laptop and inquire about the possibility of a BIOS update or any official guidance regarding Windows 11 compatibility. They might have specific recommendations or information about future updates.

    4.      Consider sticking with Windows 10: If your laptop doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11 and the manufacturer doesn't provide any solutions, you can continue using Windows 10. Microsoft has announced that they will provide support for Windows 10 until October 14, 2025, including security updates and bug fixes.

    5.      Upgrade your hardware: If you want to use Windows 11 and your laptop is not compatible, you may need to consider upgrading certain components. However, upgrading hardware can be expensive, so evaluate whether it's worth the investment for you.

    6.      Purchase a new laptop with Windows 11: If your current laptop does not meet the requirements for Windows 11 and you're interested in experiencing the latest features and improvements of the new operating system, you might consider investing in a new laptop pre-installed with Windows 11. This ensures compatibility and allows you to take full advantage of the new features, security enhancements, and performance optimizations offered by Windows 11
