Hello,

I've been trying to install Microsoft SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) onto my computer and the installer doesn't appear when I double-click it. I have tried running the program as administrator, and also restarted my computer. I have also tried installing it via the command-line based on the instructions listed here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssms/download-sql-server-management-studio-ssms?view=sql-server-ver15#download-ssms and haven't been successful. I am on Windows 10 Pro build 19044.

There are no error messages that appear on the screen, I just try to launch the program/installer and nothing happens. I can install/use a previous version of SSMS just fine. I have been trying to look for any log file that has some error information but haven't been successful and don't know where to look otherwise. I have also looked at other threads that may have had similar issues, but those threads at least have an error message that appears on screen, mine does nothing at all. Has anyone had any experience with this before?

    Hi @ryotabs ,

Please check windows event log and SSMS setup log, then share them to us for analysis. SSMS setup is located at %TEMP%\SSMSSetup\SSMS-Setup-ENU_.log.

Did you check if any security protect that blocked you install SSMS? Such as there is an anti-malware software that does not find some component on the white-list for your machine and kills Setup.
