VDI Do I need a graphic Card for Video

Hi Guys,

Hope someone can answer this question for me. I have 3 Hyperv servers (2012 R2) running 60 VDI desktop each and am about to purchase 2 more servers.

The current servers have a Nvideia Quadro P4000 graphic card installed. I added these graphic cards to the servers when I purchased them believe they would improve video performance. Since I built those server I have read a bit more on graphic cards, and it seems to indicate that graphic cards only really help with 3D rendering and may not help that much with normal PC usage, EG. Running Windows app and watching some videos.

So the question I have is, is it worth getting graphic cards for the new servers? Is it better to save the money on the graphic card so I can purchase the second server, instead of one, or better CPU?

    if your have enough memory on hyper-v host physical server and there is no need to use 3D rendering for your guest vm ,i think you need not to purchase a Nvideia Quadro P4000 graphic card for your new server.
