We have two vms : VM1 with accelerated networking enabled and VM2 with accelerated networking disabled

  1. For VM1, everytime when we Logging to vm after stop and start the vm again it will create new Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx Virtual Ethernet Adapter. When I check Device manager > view > show hidden devices > network adaptors, Getting a lot of adapters as given in the below picture. Why?

  1. But when I reboot the same vm inside OS it will not create any adapters. Why?
  2. For VM2, it will not create any Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx Virtual Ethernet Adapter when I logging to vm after stop and start vm again or reboot the vm inside OS. Why?

Could you please explain what can be the causes of the 3 scenarios. Why it is?

  1. Also could you please provide how accelerated networking works in windows vm?

    Hello @pedri

Thank you for your heads up.

I can not deny that this scenario brought my attention and I would like to ask you if by any chance you are running Scale Sets on it...

Also, please run the next command on the PowerShell Terminal so, we can realize if the status per NIC is not present and so on...
