We have one Azure FarmBeats instance, can we use this single FarmBeat instance for multiple farms?

How many farms can we create per FarmBeats instance? Is there a way to restrict a user from viewing only his own farm and no one else's farm?

Example Scenario:- Consider we have Farm 1 belonging to User 1 and Farm 2 belonging to User 2. So, can we only provide access to User 1 to access only Farm 1 and User 2 to access only Farm 2?

Yes, you can create multiple farms. Please see Manage farms to know more information about how to create farms, install devices, sensors, and drones that helps you manage your farms.

How many farms can we create per FarmBeats instance?

AFAIK, there are no limitations that I'm aware. You can add multiple Farms to the instance.

Is there a way to restrict a user from viewing only his own farm and no one else's farm?

Azure FarmBeats includes user management for people who are part of your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) instance. You can add users to your Azure FarmBeats instance to access the APIs, view the generated maps, and access sensor telemetry from the farm.

Azure FarmBeats supports two types of user roles:

    • Admin: Complete access to Azure FarmBeats Datahub APIs. Users in this role can query all Azure FarmBeats Datahub objects and perform all operations from the FarmBeats Accelerator.
    • Read-Only: Read-only access to FarmBeats Datahub APIs. Users can view the Datahub APIs, the Accelerator Dashboards, and the maps. Users with read-only access can't perform operations such as generating maps, associating devices, or creating farms.

Please refer Manage Azure FarmBeats users for more details.

Hope that answers your queries. Do let us know if you have any other queries.
